The Straw Hats make for one hell of a party of RPG characters Eichiro Oda's one-of-a-kind art style lends itself well to filling the world with fantastical and amusing creatures and the over-the-top nature of battles from the actual manga and anime gives plenty of material for some of the coolest (and funniest) special attacks I've seen in any turn-based RPG. Additionally, when certain conditions are met, the Straw Hats can unleash Bond Arts to perform combination abilities.A classic turn-based RPG in the style of Dragon Quest is not exactly the first place my mind goes when it comes to thinking of game genres that would pair well with the action-heavy world of One Piece, but as One Piece Odyssey proves, it's actually kind of a great fit. Sometimes during battle, dramatic scenes can occur, which can lead to large bonuses. By selecting the attack range properly at the start of battle, you can maximize each character's unique abilities and aim for victory. 'Battle' consists of combat based on classic command-based systems while having the Straw Hats play an active role unique to One Piece. 'Adventure' consists of exploration of the island setting, where the Straw Hat Pirate's unique abilities - such as Luffy's Gomu Gomu no Mi (Gum-Gum Fruit) powers and Franky's machinery skills - can be used to traverse around various locations. One Piece Odyssey is broadly separated into two components, Adventure and Battle. We've included the details below and new screenshots in the gallery. The new images introduce the game's turn-based battle system, as well as a couple of new original characters.
